This past weekend I had the pleasure to go back home for a family get together, and while there I visited the church that I attended during my “growing up years”.  The message was on “The Great Commission” and was taken from the Acts 1:1-5 and Matthew 28:19-20.

Here’s a summary:

  1. God’s plan of salvation extends to everyone.  From beginning to end, it wasn’t limited to one family or group.

In a talk given at TheResurgence Raleigh Boot Camp entitled ‘The Biblical Mandate on the Man’, Scott Thomas describes some qualifications of a church planter. The first two thirds of this message were good, but the last third in my opinion was fantastic.  He encourages church leaders to call men to a manly, strong, radical adventure.

On April, 23 1994 I went on my last “first date”.  At the prompting of my friend, Matt Swain, I asked a beautiful young lady to a movie - White Fang.  Neither of us had any idea that 15 years later we’d be married, have two kids, and be head over heels for each other.
